Braveaux:
South Louisiana slang
used to express admiration,
encouragement and a job well done.

"We have so many times within each gifted day
to love, support and encourage those around us.
We all deserve a big Braveaux in our lives.
Cheers to consistency and growth,
just trying to be better than yesterday"

Travel
Travel is one of my favorite things because it reminds me that there’s life outside the school drop-off line and the 6 p.m. dinner scramble. Whether it’s a weekend road trip or a once-in-a-lifetime getaway, it’s a chance to reconnect—with myself, with my family, and with the world. I love how travel forces me to slow down, savor the moment, and sometimes even eat breakfast without anyone asking for a snack mid-bite. It’s not always glamorous (hello, airplane toddler tantrums), but it’s always worth it. Travel keeps me curious, grounded, and grateful—and that’s the kind of mom I want to be.
Jesus

Jesus is my ultimate favorite thing because He saved my life. He’s the steady anchor in the chaos of my working mom life. When the schedules are packed, the dishes are piled, and my patience is running thin, His grace meets me right where I am. He reminds me that I don’t have to be perfect—I just have to show up with an open heart. In a world full of pressure and noise, His peace is my reset button. Jesus gives purpose to my hustle and hope to my everyday, and that’s everything to me.
Skincare

I’ve always been pretty vain when it comes to my skin. I was the person who would immediately head to the dermatologist if I got one zit. Skincare is one of my favorite things because it’s the one part of my day that feels like it’s just for me. Between work emails, carpools, and never-ending laundry, those five quiet minutes with a serum and moisturizer feel downright luxurious. It’s not about vanity—it’s about feeling refreshed, cared for, and like a human again… and, yes… I am trying to keep the wrinkles and frown lines at bay as long as possible. Plus, nothing says “I have my life together” like actually washing your face before bed. I usually wash mine as soon as I get home for the night and change into my loungewear just so I can keep adding another satisfying and soothing layer every time I walk past my vanity. Skincare is my tiny act of self-care in a world that rarely slows down for moms.
Reading

Reading, writing, and music have always been my escapes. Reading is for me a way to unwind after a long day of balancing work, family, and everything in between. I love to wake up on a Saturday morning with a hot cup of coffee or tea and dive into a few chapters of something. Whether it's a heartfelt novel or an inspiring self-help book, I find that reading lets me reset and refocus. As a busy mom, it’s important to carve out these little moments of peace, and a good book does just that. It's also a way to enrich my mind, teaching me new things that I can apply in both my personal and professional life. So, if you're looking for a way to recharge amidst the hustle, grab a book and let it be your moment of calm, or escape.
Design & Decorating

Designing and decorating my home has always been my favorite creative outlet—it's my way of bringing a little joy and personality into every corner. We all want our home to be our space, peace, and safety net. The place where we can truly be ourselves with our clutter, our piles of laundry, our Christmas tree still up in February… and all without judgment. Whether choosing the perfect throw pillows or rearranging furniture for a fresh look, I love how design allows me to express myself while creating a welcoming space for my family. As a working mom, I’ve learned that even small changes in my surroundings can greatly impact how I feel at home. It’s also so important for me to create a home where my children can be children, my dogs can be dogs, and my husband and I can entertain with a welcoming and warm ambiance. It’s a fun challenge to balance beauty and functionality, making sure everything serves a purpose while still feeling cozy. If you're looking for a way to recharge and add a little sparkle to your space, let designing and decorating be your creative escape!

Giving is my love language. It is how I show love to others and serve them. It is one of the few characteristics I get from BOTH of my parents. BOTH of my parents have always been huge givers, and both have servants’ hearts. Giving has always been close to my heart because of them—whether it’s time, support, or even just a listening ear, I find joy in making a difference and just trying to uplift someone with a word or act of encouragement. As a working mom, it’s easy to get caught up in the chaos of daily life, but taking the time to give, even in small ways, brings me a sense of purpose. Whether I’m volunteering, helping a neighbor, or simply offering encouragement to a fellow mom, giving is my way of spreading positivity. It reminds me that even in the hustle and bustle, we can all make the world a little brighter. So, if you ever feel overwhelmed, remember that the act of giving, big or small, can fill you up in ways you might not expect. My granny always told me, “If you’re gonna have a pity party, don’t invite me.” When I do get to feeling sorry for myself, the fastest way to get out of my funk is to focus on helping someone else because “someone always has it better, but most have it worse.”
